I am currently a third-year medical student at the UW-Madison and am taking a year off school for a research fellowship during the 2020-2021 calendar year! I am originally from the Madison area and will always be a Badgers and Packers fan. My background is in biomedical engineering, and I graduated with a B.S. from Washington University in St. Louis in 2017. I joined the Binaural Hearing and Speech Lab the summer between my first and second year of medical school, researching listening effort with a non-invasive neuroimaging modality, functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). I am continuing with similar tools and methodologies in my fellowship, and am excited to combine my engineering and medical training while using fNIRS to study spatial hearing in listeners with single-sided deafness and cochlear implantation!
