Chantal Van Ginkel

I am a graduate student in the Audiology doctoral program. I received a B.S in Marine Science (Biology) and a B.A in French at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2014. Until a few years ago, my research background and interests mainly consisted of work in marine mammal acoustics and limnology. I first became interested in hearing science in the summer of 2013 while interning at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. While my initial interests were in marine mammal hearing, they evolved to encompass clinical audiology as well as research related to cochlear implants. This summer I will be interning at Vanderbilt University working on research related to binaural cues and cochlear implants, and hope to work on similar research in the Binaural Hearing and Speech Lab in the fall.
