Eva Walsh
Position title: Research Specialist
Pronouns: she/her/hers

I am a Research Specialist at the Binaural Hearing and Speech Lab assessing the impact of hearing loss on brain structure, cognition, and language within children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). I have a Bachelors of Science in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, and a double minor in biological studies and history.
Professionally, I specialize in working with children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder (FASD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD). However, as an undergraduate, I studied the effects of the environment on cognition and behavior in Dr. Quinn’s Escape Lab at DePaul University. I completed a senior thesis on the effects of “Awe” on eye gaze behavior and cognitive function using TOBII-Pro lab eye-tracking software.
Outside the lab I love painting, exploring new restaurants, martial arts, and a good book!
