Sean Anderson

Sean is doctoral student in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. In spring 2015, he received a B.S. in Mathematics, Neuroscience, and Psychology, with a minor in Statistics from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. Sean‘s previous research concerned the development of cortical neurons in the presence of anesthesia and auditory perception in patients with hearing loss. Before moving to Madison, Sean was fortunate to spend the summers of 2013 and 2014 at the University of Maryland, and the summer of 2015 at Oregon Health and Science University, performing research focused specifically on auditory perception with hearing loss. His graduate research is focused on understanding auditory perception through the physiological functioning of the auditory system. He has completed research with patients that have cochlear implants, simulations in participants with normal hearing, as well as extensive simulations of the auditory system via computational modeling. Sean is currently pursuing his PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders as well as his MS in Biometry through the Department of Statistics.
