I am currently a PhD student in the Neuroscience Training Program. In May 2014, I received my B.A. in Biology and Language and Linguistics from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. After graduation, I was accepted into the Post-baccalaureate Research Experience Program (PREP) at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I conducted research investigating how exposure to high levels of manganese leads to deficits in executive function, such as attention. As a PhD student, I am interested in investigating language development within bilateral cochlear implant (CI) listeners and the amount of cognitive effort it takes for CI users to process speech.
