I am a second-year Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Master’s student at UW- Madison, set to graduate in May 2020. My plans after graduation include becoming a SLP in an elementary school and getting a dog! During my education at UW- Madison, I worked as a graduate student SLP at Country View Elementary School, Pediatric Voice & Swallow Clinic and Cleft & Craniofacial Anomalies Clinic in the American Family Children’s Hospital, and the University of Wisconsin Speech and Hearing Clinic. Prior to moving back to my beautiful hometown of Madison, WI, I earned two B.A.’s with honors in Communication Sciences & Disorders and Psychology from Augustana College (Rock Island, Illinois) in 2018. Throughout my education, I have developed a passion for language and literacy, and specifically incorporating literacy skills into intervention with individuals who use alternative and augmentative communication (AAC; i.e. “device/talker”) to communicate. In the Binaural Hearing and Speech Lab, I work as a graduate student research assistant for the Down Syndrome Research Study!
